Premier Network’s story began long before it became an OSJ.
Premier didn’t set out to build an OSJ. It became one because advisors sought out Bob and Traci’s leadership, experience, and partnership.
In the 1990s, Bob Pugliese and Traci Shughart worked together at a local insurance firm, where they quickly discovered they made a great team. Bob was the visionary out front, building relationships and serving clients, while Traci worked behind the scenes, keeping the business running and turning ideas into action. Together, they shared a dream of building an independent financial planning firm where they could serve clients with integrity, build lasting relationships, and do business their own way.
In 1999, they took a leap of faith and founded Premier Wealth Management®, affiliating with Cambridge Investment Research to begin that journey. Like many small businesses, the early years weren’t easy. There were long hours, financial challenges, and plenty of uncertainty, but they believed in the business they were building and the people they were serving.
Then something unexpected happened.
As Cambridge grew, they asked Premier to supervise a handful of financial advisors who were joining the firm.
What began as helping just a few advisors quickly became something much bigger. Bob and Traci realized they loved helping other advisors build successful independent practices just as much as they enjoyed serving their own clients.
As more advisors joined, Premier evolved naturally into an Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ). Rather than focusing solely on growing their own advisory practice, they made the deliberate decision to build a business centered on supporting independent financial professionals. That shift became the foundation of Premier Network of Financial Advisors.
More than 25 years later, the company has grown far beyond what Bob and Traci imagined, but the philosophy remains exactly the same.
Relationships come first. Service is personal. Independence should be empowering, not isolating.
